Member Joanne Crum will facilitate a six session series in Nonviolent Communication (NVC).
Members will learn the importance of clear observations (vs. judgments), being aware of their feelings, which are the result of needs being satisfied or not satisfied, and how to make a request, rather than a demand.
Several members who attended an NVC class in Spring 2019 described their experience:
Jeff: “It’s what making me to be less angry. I love my classes.”
Lori: “Although I came for just a few days for beginning NVC, I was astounded how much I learned. I realize now I do need to start and follow through with all the training, but I now realized that I can put words to my feelings and that is a great thing for me. I know I need this now. Thank you, Joanne.”
Sarah: “I learned a new way to express myself and understand others. After each class, I learned new techniques to help me be a more compassionate communicator.”
The class will meet on the first and third Friday afternoons 3:00- 4:30 PM. beginning February 7 and concluding on April 17. Members are asked to plan to commit to all six classes, if at all possible, for the best learning outcome. If you are interested, please contact Olga or Sarah M. by Wednesday, February 5.
